River got to have a little play date today with the dog of a friend of DH. Bru is a beautiful adult yellow lab and was as excited to play with River as she was to play with him. Despite the fact that it was raining the two dogs had a wonderful time racing around the yard. River may have gotten humped a little bit too. *blush*
River is now 4 1/2 months old and 40 pounds. Her training is going so well. As we've been teaching her commands we use a hand signal in addition to the verbal command and she will now follow the hand signals without the use of the verbal command. What a smartie! And she has just recently mastered "down." For a while now she would do "down," but only when we did the hand signal down to the floor. She's now made the connection that the hand signal means the same thing regardless of the height at which it's done.
