My dad arrived back in town on Friday, which means that he's ready to start on our Summer projects schedule immediately. This year's project is remodeling the main bathroom in the house. Remodeling our master bathroom was our first big project in the house, but it's taken 4 years (can that be right?) to get to the other bathroom.
So...what needs done? Demolition obviously. Then new flooring, repair the walls and paint, new toilet, new lighting, custom made vanity, custom-order counter-top and sink, new faucet and mirror. Oi!
Turns out (of course) that our bathroom is not standard size. The space for the vanity is 42 inches. Standard would be 36" or 48". Putting in a 36" would look weird...too much empty space. And a 48" would crowd the toilet too much. So we make our own. Thank goodness I have a dad that knows how to make cabinetry. That custom counter-top is going to hit the wallet hard though...
